I love using Designer Series Paper and projects like this stationery box are great ways to show them off. This box is a gift. In the little pockets there are small love note cards and tags. In the big pocket at the back there is stamped writing paper and matching envelopes. The front flap has a little notebook on it.
Here's a quick and simple card that could be used for many different occasions.
This time it was for a thank you card. I struggled to photograph this one. The Baja Breeze strip on the right is actually stuck onto the inside of the card. The stamp set is a Level 1 hostess set, "Live like you mean it".
As we don't have In Color markers I carefully used the ink pads to colour the stem and flower.
Here's a fun Halloween card using punches. Each pumpkin is made from five 1 3/8" circles, 1 small oval, the eyes and nose are points from the small star and the mouth is from the Boho Blossoms punch, the leaf is one petal off the 5 petal flower punch crimped.
The scored stripes on the cardstock were inspired by a card on Teneale William's blog. I score my cards regularly around the edges but had never thought to score like this before. It's a great effect.
My youngest son has a Halloween dress up at preschool today, so I'm dropping off the matching lolly bags for the staff. I've used the Right On Track railway wheel to hopefully look like a fence.
Apologies for not getting the challenge winners posted last night.
The first prizes are for the cyberchallenges. I used random.org to select a winner from each challenge.
Challenge #1 Rachel Jackson
Challenge #2 Cassie McMustie
Challenge #3 Karyn I'Anson
Challenge #4 Tina Gillespie
The next prizes are my favourites from each challenge. This was really tough to choose.
Challenge #1 Sam Post
Challenge #2 Rachel Capps
Challenge #3 Chris Parker-Barnes
Challenge #4 Alanna Paterson
Now to the Pink Pigs! As there were two prizes I gave one to those that guessed at my home event and one to those guessing online. The winners are Karen I'Anson and Nicole Tudor. Nicole actually guessed the correct number with 24.
Lastly the colour challenge. I used random.org again to choose one winner from the correct entries (DBFACGE). The winner is Lisa.
If everyone could please drop me an email with their contact details that would be great. If you're a fellow demonstrator and will be at the Sydney Regionals please let me know so I can save on postage and hand it to you.
Here's some photos from my evening.
The before photo!.
During photo.
Check back later for some Halloween creations.
Words alone can not say thank you enough to all of you that joined me for my for my Girls' Night In. When I first thought of the idea of a joining public cyberstamp (my team has them monthly on our team forum) with an event at my own home I was a little apprehensive about how it would go. But I was so excited with the prospect of getting the stamping community together that I decided I had nothing to lose. As the quote goes, "Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss you will land among the stars".
So I registered for the event and had to set a goal. I decided to set the goal at $1000 which I thought would be a great amount to raise. With a week to go and only $20 donated I did wonder if I'd be landing in the stars rather than reaching the moon!
But I should never have doubted the wonderful stamping community that I am so proud to be a part of. I can happily report that this evening the total is currently at $1318.
There were 15 people who came along to my home to create some fun projects and I know that 20 of you have uploaded your creations from the challenges last night here. I'm sure there were more of you that participated and certainly more made donations.
Two of my team, Fiona and Ariane had their own Girls' Afternoon In yesterday, using the same projects as myself and raised over $500 too.
So from the bottom of my heart I say thank you to all of you for your donations and your support of my event. Without you this couldn't have been possible.
PS I've already got ideas running around my head about what I'll do next year!
My apologies again for the problems with the link page last night.
I've started again! Click here to find the lovely creations from last night. They're all in the one section now so just add the challenge number after your name. I think I managed to transfer over all the links from last night.
I'll leave the challenges open until Monday afternoon to give everyone some more time to work on them.
Thank you so much to everyone who has made a donation. The official total can be seen here. It will go up more this morning as I enter in the cash donations from last night.
Anyone who still wants to make a donation is most welcome.
Once again thanks to everyone for their support.
Here's the last challenge for the evening. A sketch challenge. Use the sketch below for inspiration to create your own card or scrapbook page. The only criteria - yep you guessed it - it needs to be predominantly pink!
Here's the sketch - feel free to rotate it.
and here's my card.
Upload your creations to the challenge #4 list here.
A big thank you to everyone who participated in the challenges and donated to the Girls' Night In breast cancer research fund. It's not too late to make a donation. Simply click here and you'll be taken to my offical fundraising page. Why not check out how much we've raised so far.
It looks like Mr Linky isn't happy with the multiple posts. If you can please post all your challenges into #2 and I will sort out #1 that would be great.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
When I saw this watering can this week I knew I had to change the challenge I was going to use and have this one instead!
You can find a step by step tutorial on how to make the watering can including the template here on SplitCoastStampers.
Of course your watering can should be pink!
Upload your creations to the challenge #3 list here.
If you're having fun joining in this cyberstamp for a great cause then please make a donation on the official fundraising page.
Here's a fun quiz for you. I realise that it will depend on your monitor for accurate colours but hopefully you'll be able to work it out.
Looking at the 7 colour swatches above can you work out which one is which colour!
Cameo Coral
Rose Red
Pink Pirouette
Pretty in Pink
Pink Passion
Pixie Pink
Regal Rose
All you need to do is leave a comment below with your order. Eg. DFEACBG
I'll choose one of the winning combinations at random to receive a prize. To play along you need to have made a donation to the Girls' Night In here.
Thank you to everyone for you support.
Here's the 8pm challenge. A colour challenge.
Create a card, scrapbook page or 3D project using the following colours:
Pink, Black and White. Which pink is completely up to you.
Here's my creation a box with 3 cards and matching envelopes using the Sip by Sip stamp set. I chose Pink Pirouette and Pretty in Pink for my pinks.
Upload your creations to the challenge #2 list here.
Here we go!
The first challenge for tonight is to grab either your Idea Book & Catalogue or the Spring Mini. If you haven't got a real copy you can find them online here.
Find a card that you like and turn it pink! You can substitute other stamp sets too. So you're using the card you choose for inspiration.
Here are my creations.
The first card was inspired by a card on page 83 of the main Idea Book & Catalogue.
The second card was inspired by a card on page 113.
Upload your creations to the challenge #1 list here.
Hi everyone, welcome to my Girls' Night In Cyberstamp.
Firstly a big thank you to eveyone who has joined me tonight to raise funds for breast cancer research. if you haven't done so already I'd love you to make a donation to breast cancer research through my official fundraising page.
Every hour on the hour I'll post a new challenge. Each challenge will have a pink theme!
Everyone is welcome to join in the fun. Although I'm a Stampin' Up! demonstrator you're more than welcome to use other companies products in your creations.
I'm happy to mail the prizes overseas too.
How to participate? Check in each hour to get the next challenge. Once you've had a go at the challenge you'll need to scan or photograph your creation.
My blog is unable to support the linking program I want to use so you'll need to head here to the Cyberstamp Page on my website to post a link to your creation. There is a separate list for each challenge.
I'll leave the links open until Monday afternoon when I'll close the challenges. On Monday evening I'll randomly select one creation from each challenge to receive a Simply Sent Kit (note that these kits are retired kits donated kindly by Stampin' Up!). I'll also send out prizes to my personal favourites.
If you don't have a blog or online gallery to upload to simply email me your photograph (please resize them so they're not too large).
I probably won't be able to pop in here too often as I've got my Girls' Night In happening in my dining room too!
Have a great evening everyone. Once again thank you very much for joining me to raise money for this very worthwhile cause. The first challenge will be posted in 15 minutes.
The countdown to my Girls' Night In is well underway. So I thought I'd start with a fun challenge. How would you like to win a Spectrum inkpad and some eyelets?
All you have to do is guess how many pink pigs are in this jar?
You can use the grid paper to help you work out the size of the jar and the pigs - each small square is 0.5cm long.
Here are the prizes.
Simply post your guess here, or tell me on the night if you're coming to my place in person. There is a catch though, to be eligible to receive one of the prizes you need to have made a donation to my Girls' Night In.
You can make a donation to my official fundraising page here.
Joshua, my eight year old, has donated $3.20 and had a guess already!
Thanks to everyone that has made a donation so far. We have reached 21% of the goal already and have some more cash donations to pay in shortly.
I've been a little quiet on here recently as I've been getting things ready for the Girls' Night In. I don't think my desk has ever seen so much pink!
It's not too late to join in the fun either here at my home or online through the cyberstamp.
Stampin' Up! are such a great company to work for, check out the amazing donations they've sent me to help raise funds for the Cancer Council. I'll be using the four simply sent kits for cyberstamp prizes and the other donations as prizes and raffles both at my home event and online.
How to join in the cyberstamp?
Simply visit my blog on Saturday night around 7pm There you'll find the first challenge, details of how to link your creations to my website so that we can all see what amazing work everyone creates and further information on how the evening will run.
It doesn't have to be just SU! product used and you can live anywhere in the world. I'll be leaving the challenges open until Monday afternoon so you can play along over the weekend. On Monday evening I'll randomly choose one project from each challenge to send out a Simply Sent Kit to. I'll also have prizes for my personal favourites.
All I ask is that you make a donation to the Girls' Night In cause. My official fundraising page is here. So far we've raised 12% of my goal which is great. Any donation small (or large!) is very welcome.
If you'd like to participate in the cyberstamp just email me and let me know so I can send out a reminder email to you on Saturday evening. I know how easy it can be to forget cyberstamps!
I'd best get back to packaging up cute pink pig lollies for my guests joining me here on Saturday!
This new baby card is for Emily, that latest arrival for the INKlings team! So Saffron isn't a colour I use very often and I'm not sure why as I love this colour combination.
The letters are the stamp set Outline Alphabet. I've used the Designer Series Paper Walk in the Park and a Corduroy button. These papers and buttons are available in the current mini catalogue which is valid until the end of November.
This is a fun set to play with as you can add different things to the kangaroo's pouch
This card was needed for Ben, a five year old, who had a party this afternoon. Xander (my 5 year old) stamped kangaroos and presents all over the brown paper we used to wrap the present. And then tied it up with string and added a matching kangaroo tag.
Unfortunately I didn't photograph the present before we headed off to a childrens' play centre with 28 other 5 year old boys!!!!
Check back tomorrow for another Build-a-Roo card in So Saffron.
Last week one of my team members, the lovely and very talented Teneale Williams, asked for 6x6 layouts with inspirational quotes for albums that are going to be on display in the reception area of the Westmead Breast Cancer Clinic and the McGrath Foundation office waiting room. The idea being to provide positive thoughts to patients, their families & visitors who have been affected by Breast Cancer.
Above is my layout with a quote that I find inspirational.
Have a drink on me! What better way to start my first public cyberstamp than a pink lemonade to help raise funds for the Girls' Night In.
On Saturday 24th October from 7pm (Sydney time) I will be posting hourly challenges for all to join in the fun. So if you're home alone or have got together with a group of friends to stamp or scrapbook why not check out the challenges. Each challenge will be flexible enough for all to participate regardless of your experience or materials. However I'm giving you notice that there will be lots of pink involved!
How to join in? Check out the challenge and then head off to start creating. Once you've finished the first challenge, photograph your creation, and upload to your blog or online gallery. Then head back to here to post a link so we can all appreciate it. You'll have a few days to share your link. If you're not able to post to a blog or online album just drop me a line and I'll try to upload them for you.
There will be four challenges at 7pm, 8pm, 9pm and 10pm. Once I've checked out everyone's creations I'll choose one submission from each challenge to send a small prize to.
Here's the important part! I'm running this event to raise money for Breast Cancer Research.
Sadly I'm sure many of us know someone that has been diagnosed with breast cancer. It has touched me personally through discovering my mother in law had breast cancer two years ago, a friend just this year and one of my team members, Kim, 7 years ago.
Since her battle with the disease, Kim has been a fantastic supporter of breast cancer support agencies and you may have seen her in newspapers and on Channel 7's Sunrise show. You can listen to Kim's story here on the Pink Ribbon Day website.
How can you help? I'm asking all that participate (and even if you can't!) to make a donation to this very worthwhile charity. It's easy to do. Just head to my Girls' Night In official fundraising page and make a donation online. Large or small all donations help. Just imagine if everyone that reads my blog makes just a $1 donation we'd have a great start to raising the $1000 goal I've set.
If you're hoping to take part in the cyberstamp I'd love you to leave me a comment on this post. Everyone is welcome, stampers, scrapbookers, demonstrators, customers, Australian, New Zealand, worldwide.
Let's get the papercrafting community together and make a difference.
Calling all fellow demonstrators? Have you been thinking about organising an event for Girls' Night In or World Card Making Day but haven't had the time to get the ball rolling?
Why not join me for a Girls' Stamping Night In and Cyberstamp on October 24th at 7pm. Get together a group of your customers, friends, fellow team members and have a fun night stamping. To make it even easier just contact me and I'll email you information on how I'm running my evening, including the details for the projects above.
The second way you can get your group involved is by getting together and participating in the online challenges I'll be posting to my blog hourly from 7pm. Of course you can, like my group will be, do both. Complete the projects and then for those who want to, tackle the challenges.
There's no charge for attending my event in person or online but I'd love it if you could make a donation, of any size, to breast cancer research through my official fundraising page.
Not a demonstrator/or a demonstrator home alone on the 24th? Pop back later tonight to read about how the cyberstamp will run.
Local to me and haven't received an invite? Give me a call today to book your spot.
I'd love to have demonstrators from all over Australia join me for this fun evening and between us raise lots of money. I'm aiming for $1000 and hopefully with lots of demonstrators getting groups together we might have over 100 participants.
To celebrate World Card Making Day I am going to run a stamping event both online and in real life.
How will it work? If you're local to me I'm inviting you to join me for a fun stamping evening. There will be several projects to make, challenges to complete and lots of fun to be had.
If you're not local to me but will be home on the night then why not join me for a fun cyberstamp.
What's a cyberstamp? During the night I'll set challenges online for you to work on and then, if you're able to, you can upload them to an online gallery I've created. There's sure to be lots of pink involved! Why not get a few friends around to join you for the challenges. Cyberstamps are always a fun night. I'd love for this to become an Australia wide event. Let's raise lots of money for this important issue.
I'm opening this up to everyone, demonstrator, non-demonstrator, customer, blog readers, the list is endless. If you're a fellow demonstrator and would like to get together some of your customers at your place just let me know and I can email you the projects my customers will be making.
If you're home alone, come join in the fun too.
When: Saturday 24th October
Where: My place or online!
Start Time: 7:30pm EST.
There's no fee for joining my cyberstamp either in person or online but if you could make a donation to the Cancer Council through my Girls' Night In sponsorship page that would be fantastic.
Click here to make a donation and to see how much we've raised so far.
Here's the last one in the series. I simply took some of the flowers and rubbed them onto the left of the card overlapping some of them.
So which was your favourite? Leave me a comment with your favourite and we'll see what's the most popular. Just list them as Tree, Pear, Three Flowers, Owl or Flower Group.
If you'd like to have a go at making the same cards simply contact me today to order your own pack of rubons.
Don't forget to subscribe to my customer newsletter (top right of my blog) so that you don't miss out on special offers, tips and techniques and product shares.
I really like this owl rub on. This time I've sat him on top of the words and then stamped the grass from Inspired by Nature to the left of the card. I've finished it off with two Designer Series Filigree brads.
Tomorrow I'll share with you the last card I made.
