I don't have a completed page to share today as I'm working on a 6x6 album. Last weekend we had a team afternoon/evening together so rather than packing everything I decided to work on a 6x6 album. I grabbed Bali Breeze, matching 12x12 cardstock, Eastern Blooms stamp set and matching rub ons - Hidden Garden and took those to work with.
So I've lots of not quite completed pages. I need to add titles, journalling and embellishments. Hopefully I'll have it all completed by next Friday.
2009 page count to date: 9 single pages / 4 double pages / half a 6x6 album!
Apologies for not getting a page completed last week. I knew I wasn't going to get one done for the Friday but thought I'd get one done over the weekend. After watching the bush fire tradegy unfold I didn't feel like creating.
Today I got back on track. I love these photos of Joshua. They show off his dimples! The Big Deal Alphabet has to be my favourite alphabet. No journalling today as the journalling relating to this preschool year is on another page.

I can see a lot of similar photos scrapbooked over the next decade or so! Here's the first one with photos of Joshua in 2007 in Kindergarten (first year of primary school for readers not in Australia). As is usually the case with photos the class photo was surrounded by lots of white and had the names down the bottom. I trimmed the photo and the names pull out on the tag on the right hand side of the photo.
With the exception of the chipboard and the journalling the other products aren't SU! Once a month I get together with a group of women who I met well before SU! and we catch up whilst making cards. In December we had our Christmas dinner and Secret Santa and I received the lovely papers and matching cardstock I used on this layout. Next time we get together we will have show and tell of what we made with our goodies.
Alphabet stamps make journalling so easy. Whilst rubons are great too there's nothing more annoying than finding out you've used up the last letter 'e'! Or as is often the case for me the last 'x' for Xander! You never run out with stamps! You get to pick the colour too!
The sets used in this layout are Best Friends Alphabets - both upper and lower. They're on page 124 in the Idea Book & Catalogue.

Ever have photos that you want to scrapbook but they don't have a common colour or they represent lots of different events over a long period of time?
These photos were like this. I was given them by a friend and I wanted to scrapbook them as they represented a part of our daily life. So I chose a neutral colour for the pages - River Rock, and then took a Designer Series paper with a mixture of colours in it. In this case Petals & Paisleys.
I added round tab files to each photo to label them then finished it off with some journalling. It's not a wow page but I'm happy with how it turned out and more importantly I've got the page completed.
Apologies for the quality of photo - taking a photo without flash at night isn't the best! The page isn't bent either - it's leaning against the sheet.
This entry is being posted automatically as I'm currently away on a long weekend at the beach and I wanted to set up the post before I left!
This page came together really quickly. Again it's a one photo page (I seem to have a collection of preschool photos!) but I've added more journalling this time. The chipboard was coloured using markers on the smaller letters and ink on sponge daubers on the larger letters.
Getting a photo of these boys together always proved difficult. Even the professional one has Joshua looking unhappy which he wasn't!
2009 page count to date: 9 single pages / 2 double page
My apologies for not getting these up yesterday. I had them done days ago too just forgot to upload. Thanks Michelle for the reminder.
This week it's a double page spread using the sketch of the layout on page 22 of the Idea Book & Catalogue as inspiration. The pages are 12x12 but the photos are half 3"x4" so two photos to a standard 6x4.
I think I'm going to have to write the post and schedule it to upload on Fridays!
2009 page count to date: 8 single pages / 1 double page
Here's this week's scrapbook page. This photo dates all the way back to November 2005. My boys sure look little in this one! This photo is a 7"x5" and as I had no other photos to go with it I decided to keep the page simple. Only a sentence for journalling but it says what it needs to say for this photo!
This page probably only took 30 minutes to complete which was great. Would love to see your take on the sketch.
PS. Thanks to everyone for your lovely comments about my card being one of Kristina Werner's top 15 cards and also for being selected as a winner on Shelli Gardner's December creative challenge.
For Shelli's I get to choose any stamp set from the US catalogue, either the current one or the one that is due to be released on January 19th. What to choose! Any suggestions? (I'd really like it to be a set that is either current here or hopefully makes it to our new catalogue in April).

Are you a scrapbooker? Do you still scrap regularly? Or is it one of those things that you want to get back into but never make the time?
Last year I fell into the category of never making time to scrapbook. So my New Year's resolution to myself was to scrapbook at least one page a week. Above is one of the pages I completed yesterday - it was great to get back into it and I actually finished 7 pages! They were all very simple, used up product I had in my stash (OK it's a large stash!) and I felt great when they were completed. I'm making myself scrap the photos I have had printed for several years and not print off newer ones (nicer photos on my new camera!).
I love journalling but looking back at some of the photos already I can't remember why I printed them at the time - I would have had something I wanted to say or maybe I've just got a newer nice photo I want to use. So I decided that it was OK to simply scrap some of the photos (like the one above) with a place and date on them.
Each Friday I'm going to post a scrapbook page. Often they'll be based on sketches I've found somewhere. If you'd like to kickstart your scrapbooking or just join in then I'd love to see your page based on the page above.
I'm looking forward to having at least 52 pages in my albums by the end of the year.

I've been a little quieter on the blog front over the last few days as I've been busy working on a few things. I have almost finished organising the classes I want to run over the next few months, my team newsletter has gone out and I've been planning team training.
I have had time to scrapbook today so I thought I'd share the page with you. This page was for a challenge on Scrapbooking Top 50. The three criteria I had were 1. Clear, 2. Hand stitching and 3. No flowers.
No.3 was easy, No.1 is covered with the clear buttons but No.2 was a little harder as the page wasn't looking right with handstitching so I compromised and hand stitched the buttons on. I used Stazon to stamp on the buttons as well as onto the painted chipboard title.

I thought I'd share with you a couple more of the pages I completed whilst on my weekend away. Very simple pages but I'm happy with them. There's no journalling on either of them as they follow pages that are related to them that do have journalling on them.
