Circle of Spring

Circle of Spring

This was probably the first stamp set on my list from the new catalogue.  I already owned the die to cut it out as it matches the wreath in the Wonderous Wreath set.  I made this for a wedding card but I'm not sure if it's what I wanted.  Might try another style tonight.  This time I've used white embossing powder on the wooden embellishment.

Flashback Friday

Heartfelt Thanks & Garden in Bloom

So I thought it would be fun to have a look at some of my creations over time by having a Flashback Friday.  Each week I'll upload one of my old creations. Hope you enjoy them! Then I'll use the card as inspiration for a new creation.

The card on the left uses Heartfelt Thanks, probably the first set I owned and used to demonstrate with.  A very simple card made in 2006! Unfortunately I can't find a photo of the first card I used to make at demonstrations.  Will keep looking for it though!

This week's interpretation uses a similar layout and colours and both use two step stamping. The new card uses the new set Garden in Bloom and the fun wooden accents called Expressions Natural elements.  Check back tomorrow to see another of the accents used in a different way.

I will try very hard to recreate each week but I might not get time every week once term time starts and I'm back to teaching.

Sprinkles of Life

Sprinkles of Life

This fun set is the Stampin' Up! Ronald McDonald Charities set for the new catalogue.  For every set purchased Stampin' Up! donates $3 to the charity.  It comes with a matching punch which makes things easy.  This one in Mint Choc - a favourite of mine as a small girl.  The embellishment is a Blossom Accent - they come in the new 5 In-Colours - this one is Mint Macaron. The greeting is from another set called Build a Birthday.  I think I need to make this card in all 5 colours!

PS The scallop border punch and striped embossing folder are retired items.

Best Thoughts again!

Best Thoughts

This time I've used the same technique but only kept to one ink colour for the flowers.  Delightful Dijon is a new incolour and not one I'd usually pick out to use on it's own.  I'd heard fellow demonstrators commenting on how it was their least favourite so I thought I'd give it a go.  What do you think?

Best Thoughts

Best Thoughts

This card uses new products and new colours!  I decided it was time to get back to stamping and posting on my blog and regularly this time!  I'm not back demonstrating, just creating.

This card uses a new hostess set, 'Best Thoughts' for the flower and 'Another Thank You' for the greeting.  When I first saw the new incolours I wasn't excited - I was losing 5 that I really liked - but having played with them for the first time I think I'm warming to them.  This card uses Watermelon Wonder, Tip Top Taupe and Cucumber Crush.

What I'm also excited about is that I remembered how to log into my blog!  I promise I will be back regularly with updates.  Looking forward to sharing with anyone who is still reading!

Spiral Flower Bouquet

Two posts in two days!  Played tonight with the new Spiral Flower Die.  It's so quick to make a lovely flower.  I added a pearl to the centre and then dipped the petals in Crystal Effects before dipping them in Dazzling Diamonds glitter.  This is a gift for a friend to hopefully brighten her day.

Blogging Again

Yes it's me, blogging again.  If you scroll further down you'll see how sporadic I am with my posts!  Life has been very busy in the last few years and I haven't been creating a great deal of anything!  However last night I sat down and made 3 cards, only one was for a specific reason.  It was nice stamping and not thinking about work or family.

None of the cards use current stamp sets - but that's fine with me too - I felt like colouring in and these sets were great for it!

So my intention is to resume blogging again - I'm not sure how often, it won't always be about papercraft but it will be more regularly than once a year!

Here's last night's creations.
